For work events . Nothing to install. No IT ticket.

Put one QR code by the door or on the agenda, or paste the link into the invite. Guests scan it or tap it on their own phone. A camera opens in the browser they already have. No app, no account, nothing for IT to approve. Photos are sealed until the reveal, so nobody stands around checking how a photo came out.

Why it’s easy to approve

The photos, without the project.

You already have a long list. This one asks for an email address and a few minutes.

Their own phone and browser

It runs in the browser on the guest’s own phone. Guests point the phone’s camera at the code, type a first name and start taking photos. Nothing gets installed on their phones or on a company laptop, and nothing connects to your company’s systems.

Only your guests get in

Photos from a company event should stay with the people who were there. Only people with your QR code or link can join, and only they can see the album. There is no public page, no ads and no tracking, and nothing automated ever looks at the photos. Each chapter’s photos are encrypted with a key of their own.

Sealed, then all at once

Nobody can look at a photo until the reveal, so there is nothing to check and nothing to post. People take a photo and carry on with the conversation. Then everyone sees the album at the same moment. Set the reveal for Monday morning after a Friday party and the week starts with something to talk about.

The setup

Set it up in a few minutes.

You need an email address and a few answers. Do it the week before, and the code and the link can go out with the invite.

  • Camera opens When the doors open, for example 6:00 PM. Or once the opening remarks are over, if you want everyone listening first.
  • Camera closes When the night ends, for example 10:00 PM. If people aren’t ready to leave, move the closing time later. You can also close the camera early.
  • The reveal You pick the day and the time. The next morning at 9:00 AM suits a midweek dinner. After a Friday party, try Monday at 9:00 AM.
  • Photos per guest Choose 6, 12, 24 or 36 for each person. For a dinner, 12 is plenty. A picnic that runs all afternoon can take 24 or 36.
  • Size and price One price for the whole event, set by headcount and not by seat. The free size covers a team dinner of up to 10 guests. A 100-guest event is $39, and 250 guests, the biggest size, is $99. Both are one-time prices, with no subscription. Anything above 10 guests arrives with the iPhone app.
  • Your controls Until the reveal, you can see who has joined and how many photos have come in, but never the photos. You can remove any guest at any time, and once the album opens you can take down any photo.

Running a multi-day offsite? With the iPhone app, an event can span up to 7 days, and each day’s photos open the next morning. Today, in your browser, an event covers one night.

A Friday party, start to finish

  1. Thursday The reminder goes outPaste the QR code or the link into the email you were already sending.
  2. 6:00 PM Doors openThe camera opens too. People scan as they arrive, type a first name, confirm they’re 13 or older and start taking photos.
  3. 7:30 PM Dinner and the speechesPhotos come in from every table. You can check the count, but never the photos.
  4. 9:00 PM The party gets goingThe photos nobody planned get taken. Nobody stops to look at them, because they can’t.
  5. 10:00 PM The night winds downThe camera closes. The photos wait, sealed, for Monday.
  6. Monday The album opens at 9:00 AMEveryone sees it at once, you included. Guests come back to the same link, or scan the code again.

Good to know

What it is, and what it isn’t.

  • It’s a simple camera for one event, not an enterprise product. There are no company or team accounts, no admin dashboard and no sign-in through your company’s login system. One person runs each event.
  • No company logo or brand colors on the camera. Each event has its own name and cover photo, and guests see both when they scan.
  • Photos only. The camera takes no video, and nobody can upload photos they took earlier.
  • Guests must be 13 or older. That is rarely an issue for staff. At a family picnic, children under 13 can’t join.
  • The album stays for a full year. The clock starts at the reveal. To keep the photos longer, save them to your phone first.
  • 250 guests is the biggest size. It’s the largest size we sell. If you need more than that, or more than a simple camera, write to us. A real person reads every message.

Questions about work events

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Guests scan your QR code, or tap your link, and the camera opens right in their browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make. They type a first name, confirm they are 13 or older, and start taking photos.

Does IT need to do anything?

No. Guests use the browser on their own phones, so there is nothing to install, and nothing connects to your company’s systems. The person running the event needs an email address and signs in with a link we send. There is no password and no company account. If someone on your team has questions, write to us.

What if there is no signal at the venue?

Once a guest has joined, the camera keeps working with no signal. Each photo is saved on the guest’s phone first and sent while the page is open and there is signal. If a guest closes the page, unsent photos wait on the phone and send the next time they open their link. A guest does need a signal for the first visit, to join.

Can the host look at the photos early?

No. Nobody can, not even the host. Until the reveal time, no one is shown a single photo: not guests, not you, and not our support tools.

You can see who has joined and how many photos have come in, but never the photos themselves.

What if a photo shouldn’t be in the album?

After the reveal, the host can take down any photo, and can remove any guest at any time. Anyone in a chapter can report a photo, and the host sees the report. You can also write to us at hello@thischapter.app: we act on emailed reports within 24 hours.

Can we put our company logo on the camera?

No. The camera has no company logo or brand colors. You can name the event and choose a cover photo, and guests see both when they scan the code. If you need more than that, write to us.

Can I buy a bigger chapter today?

Free chapters work right now in your browser. The bigger sizes arrive with the iPhone app, which is with Apple for review.
