For sports events . From the banquet to the tournament weekend. Everyone gets a camera.

Tape a QR code to the fence, or drop the link in the team group chat. Parents, fans and volunteers scan it and the camera opens, with no app and no account. Every photo stays sealed until the reveal, so the best ones are a surprise.

Why it fits team events

The whole sideline, in one album.

At a banquet, a tournament, a golf outing or a charity run, there’s usually one person with a big camera. Everyone else has a phone, and sees what that person can’t.

Tape it to the fence

Print your QR code and put it up at the fence, the check-in table or the finish line, so people who aren’t in the group chat can scan it too. For everyone who is, drop the link in the chat. Either way, the camera opens right in the browser.

Spotty signal is fine

Fields, courses and big gyms can be hard on signal. Each photo is saved on the phone first and sent when signal comes back, so a dead zone only delays a photo.

No spoilers

Nobody can look until the reveal. Not the parents, not the booster club, not even the coach. Then the whole album opens at once, the next morning or on banquet night: the bench cracking up, the sign somebody’s sister made, the trophy riding home in the back seat.

The setup

Set it up once, then watch the game.

It takes a few minutes, any time before the first game. The camera opens and closes at the times you pick, and the album opens when you chose.

  • Camera opens When people start showing up, for example 8:30 AM at a tournament, or when the doors open at a banquet.
  • Camera closes After the last game or the last speech. If the day runs long, you can keep the camera open longer.
  • The reveal The next morning, for example 9:00 AM, or a later day you pick, such as banquet night. Everyone who joined sees the album at the same moment.
  • Photos per guest Choose 6, 12, 24 or 36 a day. A banquet is fine with 12. A long day of games suits 24 or 36. When a guest runs out, they’re done for the day, so every photo counts.
  • Size Pick a guest count. Up to 10 guests is free, enough for a small team dinner. 50 guests is $19, 100 is $39 and 250 is $99, one time per chapter. Sizes above 10 arrive with the iPhone app.
  • You, the host See who has joined and how many photos have come in, but never the photos. After the reveal you can take down any photo, and you can remove any guest at any time.

Running a tournament weekend or a fan trip? With the iPhone app, one chapter can cover up to 7 days. Each day’s photos open on their own morning: Friday’s on Saturday, Saturday’s on Sunday. In your browser today, a chapter covers one night.

Good to know

The limits, said plainly.

  • Guests need to be 13 or older. On a youth team, the camera is for parents, coaches and older siblings. Younger players can ask one of them to take a photo.
  • Anyone who scans the code can join. A code on a public fence can be scanned by anyone walking past, and everyone who joins can see the whole album after the reveal. Post it only where that is fine with you, or share the link in the team chat instead.
  • It isn’t live. Nothing appears until the reveal, so it won’t show a parent the game as it happens.
  • Photos only. No video clips and no live scores, and photos come straight from the camera, not the photo library.
  • No team accounts or rosters. One host runs each chapter. For the next tournament or banquet, make a new chapter.
  • Plan for 250 guests or fewer. That is the largest size we sell. For a bigger race or fan day, write to us.
  • Photos stay for a full year after the reveal. Save what you want to keep before then.

Questions about sports events

Do parents and fans need to download anything?

No. They scan the code with their regular camera app, or tap your link, and the camera opens in their phone’s browser. They type a first name, confirm they’re 13 or older, and start taking photos. There is no account to make.

What if the field has no signal?

The camera keeps working. Each photo is saved on the phone first and sent when signal returns. If someone closes the page, their unsent photos wait on the phone and send the next time they open their link.

Can the players use it?

Anyone 13 or older can take photos. That covers parents, coaches, older siblings and any player who is old enough. On a younger team, the photos come from the grown-ups and older siblings, and a younger player can ask one of them to take a photo for them.

Can I see the photos while the game is on?

No. Until the reveal, nobody sees a single photo, and that includes you as the host. You can see who has joined and how many photos have come in. It isn’t live, so it won’t show anyone the game as it happens.

Who can see the photos after the reveal?

Only the people in the chapter: you and the guests who joined. There is no public page, and nobody else can find your photos.

Can one chapter cover a whole season?

No. A chapter runs up to 7 days with the iPhone app, or one night in your browser today. For a season, make a new chapter for each tournament or banquet.

What if a photo shouldn’t be in the album?

After the reveal, the host can take down any photo, and can remove any guest at any time. Anyone in a chapter can report a photo, and the host sees the report. You can also write to us at hello@thischapter.app: we act on emailed reports within 24 hours.
